I found your discussion board when looking for your levy results and am always excited to see online community forums. But when my kids' elementary PTA went from getting a playground built and buying curriculum materials to talking about funding the librarian's position, I embarked on a journey that went from knocking on the doors at district to the steps at the state capitol.
These are my questions:
What do you mean when you say Delano "...will continue to be ranked the number 9 school district in the state." Ranked on the basis of what?
When you say, "Vouchers are so folks can chose better schools for their kids to go to," what do you base this on?

Delano School District Referendum Gets Mixed Results
As Delano School Superintendent John Sweet predicted, voters approved question one, and declined question two in the district's referendum vote. Voters approved the purchase of the property adjacent to the current Delano School campus with a vote of 1,782 to 1,304 Tuesday night, however, construction of a new school to house grades four through six was defeated by a vote of 1,388 for and 1,694 against. The school board will go over the election results at its April 28th meeting. It's also expected that the construction referendum will be put on the ballot again in the fall.
